Hi y’all-
Just a celebratory end of the year post after my first semester as a doc student. YIPPEE!! Now I’ve actually got some time to play over Xmas break…and thanks to everybody who offered information for a pipe study at the beginning of the semester. It won’t happen this year (stodgy profs) but I’m bound and determined to do something pipe appropriate before I’m done.
Sounds like great news…
Don’t over do it. Take breaks if your hands cramp or you feel any arm or shoulder pain.
Enjoy!
…sorry to be so stupid…but what’s a doc student?
Boyd
Someone going for their PhD, sometimes in America called a “doctorate.” Just don’t refer to them as Dr. so-and-so. That’s reserved for medical doctors.
Dionys
DOC Student can also refer to a high school student taking preliminary courses in just about any subject, in which case, DOC (sometimes capitalized, sometimes not) is an acronym referring to a Diploma of Certificate.
But, somehow recalling that Janice has referred to her husband in past posts, and working on her doctorate (or dissertation)in others, and because there’s so much idle time on this forum right now…I’d have to go with “doc” or doctorate, even though learning these pipes can make just about anyone sound younger (yet feel older) than they really are..Janice, you’re 18 and holding right?
Yup…free and over 21! (but piping makes the fingers older…)
