Here’s something you don’t see everyday, eh? Well, I’m putting my trusty old Noah Herbison made Tuneable Laughing Low D whistle up for sale…and you all thought I didn’t have any whistles left to sell, didn’t cha? ![]()
This whistle is very cool and, at least in my experience, unique because it’s incredibly quiet - this is the ultimate late night practice Low D. It also has a wonderful very pure tone. This whistle also requires less air than any Low D I’ve ever played, and it hits even the highest notes in the second octave with ease.
I’m not fond of parting with this whistle, but I do have my flute, and those have a built in volume control, unlike whistles. So, if I sell the Laughing Low D, it will force me to pick up the flute even when I want to play quietly…which my embouchure seriously needs practice on anyway.
To be honest, this is not the most hi-tech whistle in terms of fit and finish, but then neither are Noah’s High whisltles either. People do seem to love 'em though, don’t they?
Noah’s website lists the cost of the non-tuneable version of the Low D at $80. Fact is though that he’s currently charging $15 more for his high whistles than the $60 price listed on his website, so I expect the Low D’s are bringing an extra $15 as well. Not to mention I think he now charges extra for Low D’s with a tuning slide. So… I’m asking $70 + $5 for shipping to U.S. Destinations.
Shoot me an e-mail if interested, thanks.
