Aodhan, I never knew you were from Phoenix!! I was born there and spent most of my ‘formative’ years there. I played briefly in the Phoenix Scottish Pipe Band. I learned how to ice skate on frozen grass, how to protect my bare feet from blistering heat by hiding in the shadow of a telephone pole (along with a bunch of other kids all lined up along the same shadow), and that ‘heat’ lightning can be one of the most beautiful things in nature, along with the Arizona sunsets.
My part of California is awesome, but sometimes I miss Arizona. It is far more beautiful than anybody who hasn’t been there can imagine.
Hope to get more chuckles than curses. It cracked me up…just wanted to share with the rest of yaz.
