Joanie Madden songs

I am looking for the written music for a couple of sons on Joanie Madden’s “Song of the Irish Whistle” CD. They are “The Immigrant” and “The Level Plain” .I have looked at a lot of sites like The Session etc. but can’t find them. Does anyone know where I can find them?
Thanks

Hi Claire,

I’d suggest the best way to pick these tunes up is to just sit down with the CD player and listen listen listen. I learned both of these tunes this way and from a very early point in my whistling it helped immensely later on.

Best

If you have exhausted all the Net search options, it might mean the tunes are NOT in the public domain but written by someone within the last 75 years and subject to copyright. This happens sometimes. Then, your best option is as suggested, to do it by ear. Using the Amazing Slowdowner software, as many do here, you can slow down the tune so you can get every note.

When you delve into the Net and world of abc files, you will find formal sites, like Norbeck, but many more personal tune sites, where session groups, bands and individuals literally put down every tune they play, all in abc (and varying levels of competency). There are hundreds of em. Just search by the tune title and the acronym abc. That often does it quickly.

Some of the formal places are Mudcat Cafe, JC’s Tune Finder, Henrik Norbeck’s Tunes etc etc. There is also Concertina.net and an online Fiddle source, whose name I can’t remember.

Sorry for no links, but I recently lost 5 years of Bookmarks, which is killin me.
