It’s almost 3:00 p.m. on the day before a major trip. In about 12 hours, I’ll be getting out of bed and getting ready to go up to San Francisco for our flight to England. Going by my past experiences, I should be in a panic.
But somehow, I’ve actually gotten everything done. Other than packing the few items I’ll need for tonight, I’m ready to go. The house is in order, the instructions for the petsitter are printed out, the passports and traveling cash are sorted into the money belts, the last bit of laundry has been finished…I can relax! It’s actually kind of scary…I keep wondering what important last-minute thing I’m forgetting!
I’m still trying to decide which whistles to take. The Feadóg Pro is in my carry-on, but I figured I’d put one or two more in my suitcase, just for variety. Maybe the Whitecap for quiet playing in the evenings…whaddya think?
Well, congratulations! I go into a tizzy months before a trip and it makes me not even want to go. As long as you have your passport and money, really anything else you can get there. So have a good tiime and try to get to bed early. And make sure you have a book to read on the airplane.
I have two, actually. I’m a fast reader, which is a bit of a curse when you travel. I also remembered to pack some goodies to compensate for the usual pathetic airline idea of what constitutes “dessert” on a vegetarian meal (usually either badly wilted fruit or a plain rice cake with grape jelly).
I think it helps that I timed this past week as if we were leaving Saturday, even knowing we weren’t leaving until Tuesday…I got most of my panic over with on Friday!
Wow!!! I can’t believe it’s here already, Red! And kudos to you for having it all done ahead of time. I stress when we are only going to NY (9 hours away) I honestly can’t imagine how I’d be if we went overseas.
Have a safe flight there, and have a wonderful time!
