i have a wonderful marcus hernon flute for sale. i bought it from doc jones about two years ago for $800. it is in great condition, lined head, full sound. doc had it tweaked by dave copley and its voice is great. tunable. comes with a hernon wood case. for sale for $680 plus shipping. keyless, key of D. pictures available upon request. must sell.

I have an older Hernon Rudall, and it’s terrific - this is a great price for one. The one I have is a wonderful flute; strong, full tone and very responsive. I’m curious, though, why the tweak by Copley?

Im not sure what doc jones saw in the flute which made him want it tweaked. But I trust his judgment and I can see the wisdom in the finished product. Its like this flute has the best of two craftsmen…

some have questioned the necessity of the tweaking of this flute by someone other than the original maker . . . not sure why that was done, nor if it was needed, nor if its generally a poor practice . . .

but i can tell you this flute is quite good.

in fact, i’ll go as far to say if someone buys it, and thinks its not worth its price, they can return the flute for a full refund.

Here’s a bump for ya. Marcus does indeed make good flutes. And he can play the heck out of them as well. I had a class with him last summer. Delightful guy, and incredibly serious about his music.

If I had the spare cash, I’d buy this flute.
