I got my first Dixon yesterday along with wonderful service from Thom at the Whistle Shop. Nice whistle. It’s easy to play with a nice tone. Pretty easy to get into the upper register though, but I’ll get used to that. It’s an inch shorter than my Overton.
I carry my Overton around like a baby blankie, but I think that I will put it down once in a while now to play my Dixon.

Just remember when swordfighting with them, the Dixon is lighter and faster through the air, but the Overton will land a heavier punch.
I’ll keep that in mind!

Swordfighting??? I thought that they are supposed to be used to break up drunken brawls in pubs!! You are right: the Dixon does far less bodily damage than the Overton.
I got the Dixon because I also hate the contrast of blood on my blue Overton.
