Hey y’all-
The Goderich Celtic College website is up with class listings-Dervish, Sean Keane are teaching all week and playing the festival, Davy Spillane and Paddy Glackin are perfoming Friday night at the Festival. Warren and Eleanor Robinson (who run it) always do an outstanding job, but they seem to have outdone themselves this year.

Whoops-I boo-booed. The site is-

Thanks Janice - I’m going to try and make it this year. Hey, are you teaching beginner whistle?
Cheers,
PR
Yes-I’m teaching whistle and group playing with Brian Taheny (whom I love!!) and one of the Dervish guys (
). Needless to say I’m REALLY looking forward to it. And I’ll have my new Joe K. set of pipes by then.
I just talked to Eleanor and she tells me they almost got Davy Spillane and Paddy Glackin for the College week…
She thinks they are going to top their attendence record of 350 people for the College week that they hit last year (they actually had to turn people away that registered at the last minute).
It really is a great cheap vacation (particularly for Americans, as the Canadian dollar is still very low) and Goderich is such a pretty little town-wonderful beach on lake Huron, and everyone is so friendly.
So Paul- did you get to say hello to the other Paul Reed for me?
Hi Janice,
I didn’t get to go to the concert
So, the Paul’s of Reed/Reid shall maybe meet one day. Let me know how the Kennedy Pipes are. What key are they in?
All the best!

They’re in D- I would love to get a flat set from him but finances are too tight right now
. Joe just got back on Ireland and is reportedly working on updating his D chanter design.
See you in Goderich in a few months, eh?
After last year, my first, I would not miss this week for the world..now it is choices, choices! Hard ones to make, there are so many neat things to do.
Janice, what is your group playing class all about? I wanted one last year, but it was for advanced players. I had written Warren and suggested a group playing class for relative beginners to group playing…last year there were slow sessions in the evening for beginners, but these were ‘dominated’ by a few people who should not even have been there. Very disappointing it was. However, my ONLY disappointment.

Hi Liz!
The group playing class is a real grab bag of various instruments/levels…I heard that there was some frustration there last year amongst the less experienced players. I’ll ask Warren if they have any plans to level the two classes (less/more experienced)…which would be a good thing to do if possible.
