I’ll be the big, balding, red-bearded guy with a small beat-up old black O’Riordan whistle. I’ll be very startled if there’s another whistle player who even vaguely fits that description running around.

I am not going for the college… I am showing up Wednesday night (5:00pm plus travel time from Waterloo to Goderich) to hit some sessions, hear some music, maybe participate in some ph.d research…
I’m in Irish Ensemble, Composing in Traditional Forms, Advanced Whistle and probably Transmission of Irish Music.
Well, technically it’s not so much beat-up as well-loved… I’ve worn off the black anodizing everyplace my fingers touch the whistle.

Sorry–> All I know is that it is a session on a beach where there is a pavillion… It is an earlier in the evening thing, and it was started by Robin Aggus (a pipe player… but not a uilleann pipe player)
It’s a session where mosquito repellant may be a good idea. I went a couple of times. But “earlier in the evening” is usually a bad thing – as I recall, it conflicts with the faculty concerts, which are frequently great.
Robin is a good guy. He plays a set of smallpipes in the session usually, as I recall.
I’m thinking of going but no firm plans yet. I live in Nico’s part of the world so if I don’t make it to Goderich maybe we can arrange something else for the chiffers in southern Ontario at a later date?

I’m playing on the faculty concert Wednesday night, so no beach session for me that night for obvious reasons. Say hi to Robin for me Nico.
Moon! Maybe you could come up on the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday…it’s not that far from your neck of the woods. It’d be great to get together.
