Just in case any of you haven’t noticed yet, Gavin Whelan is on Geantraí - 2/9/2007 A well good bit of whistling it is too.

You can find it on http://www.tg4.tv/default.aspx under Ceol (on the left hand menu.

If you want to capture the sound then open “Audacity” http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ and set it to record while it’s playing. Make sure under “Preferences” “Audio I/O” that you have the two tick boxes unticked.

Sorry, don’t know how to capture the vid as well. Any tips there would be appreciated.

Fine whistler, Mr Whelan. I had the good luck to get to review his two albums for Taplas magazine. Very recommendable, apart from an obsession with playing Eb whistle (a bit shrill as the main instrument for a whole album - and unneccesary in such a context!) and, on the earlier album, overdoing the Finneganesque tonguing. Lovely sense of the music, though, and some superb contributions from his mates- great ensemble playing.
