I was looking at your holly chanter last monday, it looks georgeous.
I own a Galloway half-set and am positively happy with them, they have now grown into me even though im a very novice piper. Their is a small sound-clip of his pipes on clips and snips. Maybe it would be a good idea to call on him if you happen to be in this neck of the woods some time soon?

Got my Holly chanter from Gordon Galloway yesterday.
I have been playing it in for a few hours today and I am really pleased with the chanter. 
intonation is spot on, great tone, evrything i would want from a chanter.
In my opinion Gordon Galloway is a seriously good maker!

Maybe it could be named Buddy Holly. It certainly sings great.
How are these keys mounted.. Looks like they’re mounted to a plate screwed into the chanter…

certainly has a nice warm tone,I have just reamed two holly chanters blanks this week,as mentioned on an other thread on “North American wood” there’s nothing wrong
with useing holly for Uilleann pipes, Leburnums nice too, its becoming hard to get any good ebony now, most of it has lots of grey streaking in its grain you get now, 
not nice to look at.
It’s been a while since I’ve played Colonal Frazer. Must go and refresh my memory. Definatly a fun real for variations and other strange ornamentation (on the BCB triplets try lifting up the F# finger and listen to the strange sounds that can be achieved).
Does Gordon Galloway have a website. As I couldn’t find his contact details on the NPU website. Great attention to detail on Mr Galloway’s part.

His work is very, very good. I think he will be certainly one of the makers to watch in the future.
His waiting times are quite short at the moment but ishould imagine with his quality of workmanship he will become very busy.
If you don’t mind the asking, how much did you pay for the chanter?
