FS: My J Stark Junior 8 key Rosewood flute

Hello,

I have an “Irish flute” - (London made, used to play Scottish music - don’t tell!). It’s been in the family for a long time. I had it restored professionally in February, but need to sell it. Put it on ebay, but bids didn’t meet the reserve. I’m asking 1500 for it. Please take a look, and let me know if you’re interested:

Thanks! - Doug

Aha, yet another “nach Metzler”! Those keys look alarmingly Liddlesque - have any of them got initials stamped on the undersides?

FWIW, I’d say this is a second half C19th flute, so not “early 1800s” as per your listing. Looks to ve a tidy example.

Pretty cocus 8-key. Really like the silver lip plate and tone hole bushings. Not a great fan of the silver sleeving on the barrel (was that one of the professional repairs?), but each to their own I guess.

Agree with Jem, as usual, that the keys look just like those on my 6-key Metzler flute (except for the obvious two…). The wide rings for socket reinforcement are nicer on your flute though.

One thing that will help your sale here would be some kind of sound sample, as well as indication of how far the slide must be extended to get to A-440. You also may want to post some dimensions (sounding length, the McGee c - Eb measure…).
