Free music site relocating

Hi folks!

I had a bit of news I thought the the rest of you–both “readers” and “ear learners”–would find interesting.

The “sosyourmom.com” web site is going away as that band has broken up. That was going to leave homeless the pages containing O’Neill’s and other music. The 2000 or so tunes appear in four formats (Noteworthy Composer, ABC, MIDI, and GIF) for free download.

Vince, whose project it was, has created a new domain for its home: http://www.oldmusicproject.com/.

He says he will welcome reports of problems and bad links while he’s making the migration.

Happy new year, all!

Very cool. I don’t think I’d ever seen the other site but this one looks great so far. I just read the page about O’Carolan. It adds a whole new dimension in appreciation.

The same could possibly be said about the “Funny Pages” page.

Very many thanks for all your kind words!

The site is almost completely up and running HERE with O’Neill’s Music Of Ireland (the 1850), Allan’s Irish Fiddler, O’Carolan’s tunes (all of 'em!) and soon to have Ryan’s Mammoth online in the four formats.

Will and MV, thanks especially for all your support!

Vince Brennan from Philadelphia

Vince (a.k.a. Sir Roots Plumerole De Fogarty) has also perpetrated a Yahoo group focused on O’Neill’s music.

Any and all Irish traditional music… for violin, pipes, fiddles can be found at > www.oldmusicproject.com/oneils1.html > and can be discussed here. Membership is now ‘noderated’ and must be approved (not a problem!) as must all posts due to the “spam-blizzard”. Your host is Vince Brennan of Philadelphia (which excuses nothing!)and I’m looking forward to hearing from you.
