I got the below from another listserv. Found the site really interesting.
** Lots and Lots of Sheet Music
If you’re hip to sheet music and riffs, you need http://www.8notes.com/default.asp . This site features
free sheet music and lessons for several different
instruments, including guitar, piano, trumpet, and
flute.
There are also pieces and riffs arranged by category
(classical, popular, world, etc.) Riffs are arranged on
a detail page with a Flash bit that plays the audio.
The pieces have sheet music that pops up in a window
along with MIDI files so you know what it’s supposed to
sound like.
As if this weren’t enough, this site also has a
directory of over 1000 music-related sites, a forum,
and a free newsletter. Lots of work went into this.
Worth a look for the music lover!
Mark: from your Lakeshore neighbour, thanks for the site reference. And thanks for your invite to the Kildare weekly Session which I hope to attend right after Thanksgiving this weekend. Glenn Schultz who makes the ThinWeasels and WaterWeasels etc lives near the Palace at Auburn Hills, and mentioned to me 2 weeks ago that he would love to attend a Session in Windsor some time and stay overnight. He has never been to a Windsor session. Hope you and your gang don’t mind if I bring him in one night soon and try to add to the craic level.
No problem, it would be really great to have Glen join in. Clare is do back from Donegal this weekend. So it should be an interesting session this Tuesday.
Anybody else in the Detroit/Windsor is welcome to the session at the Kildare House in Windsor. This is a fast session with a lot of craic. It starts around 8ish.
When everything has settled down, I will post here the sessions in the Windsor area. If anybody really wants to know sooner, just email I will give times and directions.
