For the Numeralogically Excited

Tomorrow morning will see a rare number alignment:

Hour: 01
Minute: 02
Second: 03
Month: 04
Day: 05
Year: 06

I’m not sure who or why such things are tracked, but they were making a big deal about this on tv this morning. You will have to wait another thousand years for the next alignment. Whoop-de-doo!

djm

And it happens again a couple hours later –

Second: 01
Minute: 02
Hour: 03
Month: 04
Day: 05
Year: 06

And in between -

Minute: 01
Hour: 02
Second: 03
Month: 04
Day: 05
Year: 06

And in between again -

Second: 01
Hour: 02
Minute: 03
Month: 04
Day: 05
Year: 06

But I’m looking forward to next month, when it lines up in ascending order of duration of unit –

Second: 01
Minute: 02
Hour: 03
Day: 04
Month: 05
Year: 06

Better get the pots and pans and head out into the yard and start banging them.

(And yes, I know I left a couple out.)

Do newscasters learn math anymore? This same phenomenon will occur on April 5th, 2106. And every century after that.

What gets me is - who would care about such things? It is so pointless. You can line things up in any way you like and call them the names you choose, having chosen nothing.

djm

Isn’t counting to 6 enough?

…and why number, smaller, smaller, bigger, smaller, bigger

Slow news day?

There are four letters in the title to Dune, the same number as the month of April, which happens to be this month.
The name Paul Atreides anagrams to “A LEADER SIT UP”
meaning a great leader will come forth this month or in December, as there are twelve letters in Paul Atreides.

See it’s easy!
djm, you’ve been indoors too long buddy! :stuck_out_tongue:

Desdemona? Or do you know something I don’t?

Carol

Desdemon is what Othello calls her, sometimes. It’s a diminutive, you know? That’s the actual quote, I promise.

Othello, 5.2.24

He says this to her before he kills her.

Yikes, where are my manners! Of course you use the diminutive before killing someone.

Hehe, I figured you had it right. I was just curious.

Carol

APRIL 12345

Anyway, next month we’ll see the date 06/06/06 which will probably be a Revelation to some.

What’s revelatory about the sixth of June MMVI?

I’m pretty sure he meant that April = the 4th month …

I’m still waiting for 11:11:11 on November 11, 2011.

I love Othello. And the film version with Lawrence Fishburne as Othello is pretty good.

Oh, but to be on topic, yeah…what he said.

I want to see that.

I like Othello almost as much as I like Hamlet. Hamlet, though, is the most incredible thing ever written in the English language.

I tell you, higher math is beyond me. I would have sworn that next month would be 05/06/06 . . .

OH NOOOOOO!!! MISSING TIME!!! I’M SUFFERING FROM MISSING TIME!!!

HOW LONG WAS I IN ROOM 303????

No – the most incredible thing ever written in the English language is the three-minute version of Hamlet, written by a Scottish schoolteacher named Adam McNaughton. It should be sung to the tune The Mason’s Apron.

Hear John Wesley Harding sing it here. (LANGUAGE WARNING IN THE LAST LINE)

I won’t quote it all because you can get the entire thing here, but Ill give you the last verse –

Then Hamlet’s mommy drank the wine and as her face turned blue,
Hamlet said, “I think this king’s a baddie through and through.”
“Incestuous, murderous, damned Dane,” he said, to be precise,
Then made up for hesitating once, by killing Claudius twice.
He stabbed him with his knife and forced the wine between his lips
He said, “The rest is silence,” and he cashed in all his chips.
They fired a volley over him that shook the topmost rafter,
And Fortinbras, knee deep in Danes, lived happily ever after.

Hamlet, Hamlet, end of story
Hamlet, Hamlet, very gory
Hamlet, Hamlet, I’m on my way
And if you think that was confusing,
You should read the bloody play.

"And Fortinbras, knee deep in Danes, lived happily ever after. " – I love that line.

 That was great!

A good thing I looked at this tread. A friend emailed me the info and I thought, wow, only he and I know this. I must tell everyone.
Tony

His email: On Wednesday, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 a.m., the
time and date will be
01:02:03 04/05/06.
That won’t ever happen again. I just knew you’d want to know this.
