It's Friday and I am bored...

Going through the new book arrivals at the library, I found these two titles of interest and thought maybe that it would be interesting to ask you what titles of books that you have read or seen, where the title is misleading or just curious, or by changing a letter or word in the title makes not what it seems.

  1. Knitting With Balls a hands-on guide to knitting for the modern man, Michael de Vecchio

  2. A Peguin History of Canada

Anstapa

What do a bunch of bloody birds with ice cubes up their arses know about Canada?

On second thought …

djm

Butterfly Gardening
…they use teeny little shovels!

All About Growing Fruits, Berries and Nuts
the hell with p*nis envy, I think it would be interesting to grow nuts.

Water Gardens
a whole book telling us to water gardens? duh!

Gardening for Wild life
means leaving shrubs for the drunks to puke under.

Insects Did It First
and probably second, third, and fourth as well…

Secrets of Plant Propagation
have to be over 18 to read that one…

The Bean Bible
In the beginning, God created the bean, and God said it was good. And a mighty wind was hovering over the waters…

It’s Friday and you are bored?

Your wish is granted!

It’s not Friday any longer.

Oh come on, I thought Butterfly Gardening was pretty good. More than a 24 hr chuckle  Even now I’m amused to picture the teeny tiny shovels, trowels, and hoses they’d have to use. And could you imagine the size of the gardening gloves?

If humans plant flowers to attract butterflies, would butterflies plant gardens to attract humans? :boggle:

Good thread Anstapa, I hope you are bored more often!

It’s now Monday and I’m bored. :frowning:

Bored at four in the morning…what are you doing up at FOUR IN THE MORNING!

Anstapa

looks like 9…

For me it says J Barter was up at 1:02 AM, and Anstapa was awake at 4:44 AM. Lot of night owls out there apparently…

How does the clock work on the posts? (I think it’s been explained before but I’m too lazy to use the search function. )

And isn’t ANYBODY going to laugh at Butterfly Gardening?!

(sigh) Oh well, I’ll look for better material. Here’s an old college text, a bit damaged by mold. Authors Morrison and Boyd. Title seems to be Orgasmic Chemistry?!

there is an offset to GMT in your profile.

I am on the west coast so mine is set to GMT -7

I see your last post as 7:16 am

Whereas it looks like 9:16 am to me (Denny’s is 9:34 am).

Its too hot for Butterfly Gardening. The butter would go rancid too fast.

That must have hurt. :astonished:

…and Caroluna’s an hour east of you

hummm…reminds me of a Dennis Miller schetch

Oh! you’re getting confused with Butter Fly Gardening. That’s a technique where a gardener applies sunscreen to the nose, shoulders, etc - but also to the edges of their clothing, the hems and seams, and especially the fly. That way you don’t get that annoying bunching sensation from your clothes sticking to your skin in the hot weather.

I found out about this by reading an article in “Butter Homes and Gardens”!

Thanks Denny, I got it fixed!
