Follow up/How many whistles

There was such a great response of people sharing about their whistle collection that I thought I’d tally them up.
I’ve divided the whistles up by type for those who said what they had & put the rest under “?”.
Out of the 42 people who responded & then adding my meager 2 whistles (a Burke & an Oak), we own 768 whistles! Not a bad representation of the whistle world, if I do say so myself!
Here are the numbers:

Abell: 5…Mathieu French Flageolet: 1
Acorn: 6…Generation: 108…Overton: 30
Alba: 2…Grinter: 5…Parkhurst: 3
Asarkar: 3…Harper: 2…Perry: 2
Burke: 26…Hoover: 11…Rose: 2
Busman: 3…Howard: 5…Schultz: 3

Cook: 3…M&E: 1…Sindt: 14
Cooperman: 2..Mark: 1…Soodlum: 4
Copeland: 11..McHaffie: 3…Susato: 43
Dixon: 33…Meg: 10…Sweet: 5
Doolin: 5…Oak: 8…Sweetheart: 3
Elfsong: 1…O’Briain: 2…Sweetone: 31
Feadan: 1…O’Grady: 1…TWZ: 1

Trophy: 1

Please forgive any mistakes with names, there are many I’ve never heard of.

Hope you enjoyed this as much as I did!
Cindy

773, I just bought more! I now own:
SweetTone D
Clare D (my favorite)
Origional Clarke C
Generation C
Generation C

The Gen D needs some tweeking, but I’m giving it a few days for me to get used to it. I’m new and it might just be me! my Clarke C, may be taking over as my fav whistle though, I like the tone and it’s actually easier to play the upper octave than my other whistles.

OK,
MCN

Thank you Cindy!
How very interesting. 5 whistles were present from Abel, Doolin, Sweet, Laughing and Howard. Clarke Sweetone and Overton were almost equally represented?? I just think it’s neat to see a cross section of whistle ownership.

Unfortunately, my wife did the math and found out that I have, at 21 whistles, a larger than average (18.3)collection. She says I have to stop now

Nonsense. It means the rest of us are below average, and everyone has to go out and get more whistles. Then that will boost the overall average, enabling YOU to get more, and so on and so forth…

I think I need to move on from inexpensive whistles, wouldn’t you agree?

Clarke D (silver) x3
Clarke C (black)
Clarke D Sweetone x3
Clare D
Feadóg x2
Oak D x3
Walton’s Irish Whistle D
Walton’s Little Black D x3
Walton’s Mellow D
total whistles = 18

On the contrary, how many whistles have we tweeked to death, or have sent to total destruction in the name of science (and curiosity)? And how many couldn’t be found because they are under the couch/stove/refrigerator, or behind the TV/dresser/toilet, or under all the books sitting on top of the piano/washer/dinner table, or confiscated by local, smalltown governments? Did we count all of Dales? Or does he count?
