The ivory on that 230 year-old set looks surprisingly bright. I would have expected it to be much darker after 230 years. The ferrules and keys seem to have been kept fairly clean also.
I’ll be interested to hear opinions on who the maker might be.
Ivory should stay bright its the plastic that goes dark.
Tip frae the past.. Lemon Juice is good fer cleaning the ivory piano keys so should do the same for ye’s wi ivory on the pipes if’n ye need to..
Interesting how the "we are not in a recession yet"as forecast by oor politicians appears to be reflected in the flood o sets on the market…ie always take the opposite of whit a politician says as being nearer the truth but still a lie
The set in question looks a bit of a hybrid but nice nonetheless for it.
Maybe the inmate who spent 2.5K euros for the Froment chanter will likewise spend whatever amount the set eventually climbs to…I say inmate wi some sympathy coz whoever he or she is ain’t living in the real world for sure

Davy nice idea to put the pics up but the urls are too long and make the page into a form of scroll which is annoying.I think ye are too good to the folks on the forum.Ye should just put the pics up and let them find the items for themselves..that way there will be far less dross as they hunt the pages or whatever
Edited to take oot any offensive bits but I couldnae find any. Have a nice day ye all
Howard practice set went for 550 STG, good saving on new, as they were a very new set too.
Been considering putting my half set up as I’m not playing at all at the mo with new baby and business, but looks like I’m going to hold on to it.
So are they of your manufacture (or did you buy the other set).

Edited to add, I see the other set went to France, so it looks like you are the maker. How about a few pictures of the other instruments you make (as I love the sound of the Hardanger fiddle).
Yes, they are mine. There are some photos of my Hardanger fiddles and a nyckelharpa on the Traditional String Instruments forum. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos of very recent instruments, as they are all sold as soon as they are finished.
