The Wilson and McCarthy set had no bids on it and didn’t sell
The Matt Kiernan set went for £631 -
well done to the successful bidder, nice price ![]()

After I receive the Kiernan (and a checkup) it will be sold on to a promising young lad from the Cologne area who is taught by a good friend of mine. He is doing very well on a practise-set and it is time now for him to own a halfset. This is perfect for him. Interesting enough, he is not from an ITM background. Though fewer and fewer over here, there are some younger people, who “carry on the pole”. ![]()
Good for you Hans-Jeorg. Hope everything works nicely for the young player.

what? no Bodhrans?!
Hi rgouette
This is the UP forum, not bodojo
and after the absolute monumental and rancid pigs ear I made of my playing in Cavan on Saturday bodhran is definitely a bad word for me at the moment.
David
But just for you, a sample of the two most popular makers at the All Ireland bodhran championships.
O’Kane bodhran
Hedwitschak bodhran
3/4 set in D by Ginsberg I have bought twice from this seller,(Mike Ginsberg - Alan’s brother), and had absolutely no problems.

For sale one half set of Uileann pipes by Glen, Northern Ireland. Purchased for me by my late mother in the hope that I would play them. unfortunately they have lain unused for ten years and so reluctantly must go to pay for an instrument I can play. They come complete with three chanter reeds and case. i have just strapped them on and played them as good as I did back then, so no sentimentality there. i hope they go to someone who can make them sound as they should. Happy bidding ps > please dont ask me very technical questions regarding these as they are not something I am au fait with> , but will answer any questions where I can.
‘Glen’ of Northern Ireland - hmm… smell a well curried rat here… the oversize drone stop lever rather gives the game away ![]()
As a seller you’ve got to love it when these things go way above the original “Buy it Now” price, which was £350 I think.
