Dump your silly band names here...

Over the years I have come up with many stupid band names, or seen/heard something that I thought would make a ridiculous band name.
I believe that I’m not alone in this hobby, so please use this thread to unburden yourselves. There is also the slim chance that some poor misguided fool will actualy use one of them.
I’ll start the ball rolling with this little gem I dreamed up last night:
CELTIC DEATHRAY!
also…
Dirty Fulcrum
and…Vinny Manlove and the Tokyo Plumbers.

“Jack Russell and the Midnight Terriers.”

Slan,
D.

“Histotoxic Anemia”, it’s almond flavored music!

JC and the Disciples. A real band in 1960’s Cleveland.

I came up with “The Geographic Feature String Band”.
There were so many bands like the Broken Valley String Band, or the Blue Mountain String Band, that I thought I’d just come up with a name to cover them all…

I have to say, I actually like that one.

Mark

for those that prefer the high lonesome sound there’s The Random Bad Bluegrass Band Namer

I’ve always said, when I start my first band, no matter what kind of music we play, we will be named

Chicken Martini.

Favorite band name of all time:

Bob Hope to Die

Liver Management

Spike and the Peaches

Ad Hoc

Grunter and the Oxygen Masks

Boogiemania

Flash the Pan

Metalica

The Psychotic Orange :astonished:

I think that came from a name-generator on some website, but I can’t remember where. I laughed so hard that I don’t think I’ll ever forget the name though.

Aren’t they the Irish band that wrote Whisky in the Jar ?

PS don’t try to play “Whisky in the Jar” Metalica is very enforcing in their art copyright.

My nephew publishes an occaisional metal e-zine. Here are the names of some real bands. It’s tough to compete with reality. here’s some of the material from the ocotober 2005 issue. I’m curious if and C&F folks played in the Doom Grind Fest 2005 tour.

Randy from Lamb of God, Guy from the Red Chord, Matt of Acid Victim Records
Show Reviews of:
Hate Eternal w/ Krisiun, Into Eternity
Dehumanized w/ Malignancy, Anoxia, Teratism
$ound’$ of the $ellout (I mean “underground”) tour 2005 w/ Lamb of God, Unearth, Opeth and a bunch of shitty bands…
Doom Grind Fest 2005 w/ Grief, Unearthly Trance, Buried Inside, Conifer, Magrudergrind
The Black Dahlia Murder w/BTBAM, Cephalic Carnage, Into the Moat
Ion Dissonance w/ Through the Eyes of the Dead, the Red Death
Stonerfest w/ Ocean, Villige of Dead Roads, Conifer
Also a feature on riding freight trains from Maine to Montana and back, hitting Trampfest '05 on the way, the forth installment of the fictional epic “Funky Rais,” plus a ton of CD reviews and a shit load of other stuff…

Yes, I believe you’re corect!

Here’s a band name that just occurred to me: Painfully Itchy Scrotum. It’s got that Billy Connelly feel about it.

Some of my friends in high school had a doo-wop group called “Ricky Retsyn and the Chlorets”

I guess you had to be there…

Roger

Two real band names that I like are The String Beings and Carnival Knowldege.

Steve

The Corporation T-Shirt

A Certain Convocation of Politic Worms

Years ago while I was in high school they used to let local bands with members attending the HS to play during assemblies. Of course, the HS administration, being ever so benevolent and watchful, carefully censored the songs that we would be allowed to play and the names of the band appearing. So, there were those of us who, thinking ourselves most terribly clever, made a great effort to come up with band pseudonyms that would get a laugh. Some of the ones that made it past our most dull censors:

Mr. Pig Wrecked 'Em
Oscar Odom and Lefty’s Big Brass Ska Band (on stage, Brass was mysteriously misheard as Ass. Once, while performing at my friends HS afer I graduated we even changed this to Oscar Odom and Lefty’s One Nut Ska Band once on stage…)
Big Bad Pooh Pooh Dudies
The Craptastics (yes, they actually let this one slip by!)

I was one of the few bass and piano/synth players in HS so I was able to perform a lot…
Oh, did I mention…
…I was suspended a lot in high school… :stuck_out_tongue:

The Sebaceous Sisters

They’d have to be a punk band.

I once played in a band called El Riff and the Raff.

No kidding.

Here’s one I’ve always thought about:
El-Ron’s Roundabout
