Has anyone used this site? Their CD selection is limited, but there are a few tunes I would like.

Mukade

That’s gotta be the longest URL ever!!!

Yes, I bought David’s CD that way and am pleased with both the CD and the website. It gives you downloads that you then burn on your own CD and is obviously cheaper to own the music than buying a factory made CD.

Not sure about that
15x £0,79= £11,85= euro 17,56 =+ cd to burn= euro 18.00
I paid euro 16,66 including postage
and a booklet with it!!!

Hah! Try this:

Carel, I think you are using the “per track” price. In US funds, if you buy each track it is .99 per track, but if you buy the whole 15 track album, it is 9.99. At that pricing, at least in the US, you save money.

OK you are right
But uh
how about royalties?
is the artist getting the same in both cases?

There are two reasons why this is cheaper: your are only getting mp3s, which are usually inferior in sound quality to cda files, and you are not getting all the printed materials in the jacket notes. I have been told by several people that it is the cost of printing the CD jacket and labels that is the most expensive part of producing a CD nowadays. The sound quality is dependent on what sort of equipment you play back on, so this may not be an issue for you.

going back to “my love is in america”:
In the bonny bunch of roses I hear, if not mistaken, the A drone switched on after 3 seconds. sounds great.

In my humble oppinion, David is the single greatest living piper (and proably non-living as well). I hope nobody takes offence at this, though, its just an oppenion!
Jack Devereux

Mr. Devereux, you are making some awfully big assumptions.

djm

You mean there’s times when he’s not alive?

Its the first time for me to listen and listen again and again to his CD
and I have to agree with Jack

oh he stinks!

Actually, in addition to a great musician, my experiences with him in workshops, etc, is that he is a superb teacher as well.

Ive been taking lessons from David fro over year now and can vouch for the ablities…I hav learned enormous info and technique much is recorded on dvd so I can go back and pick the finger stuff. If anyone wants a copy the rate is $275. for every 5 minute segement or $1000.00
per 20 minute dvd. :stuck_out_tongue: Yah their worth “JUST FINGERS” volume I is killer. :sunglasses: or get all TEN FINGERS for $9,999.99
ps dont tell David I’m selling these things like hot cakes ..he’ll have my head.
On the more serious side using DVD to record lessons is the way to go if ya can afford and with strict permission from the teacher.

I think he is also a great piper to watch playing. He has a great presence on stage. The way he holds his pipes with his head tilted back says “these pipes are not going to get the upper hand of me”.
He tells some good jokes too.

And he’s a fly fisherman as well

I found him to be pleasantly scented and quite popular with the ladies on that account. As you know women are quite sensitive to odors so I feel this is a very unfair commentary on his personal grooming habits.
