Does anybody have any thoughts/experiences with Davey Spillane pipes?
Also, does anybody out there have a reed making recipe for his chanters?

As I’ve said before I know a bloke whose girlfriend’s aunt’s second best friend from school* has a Spillane chanter. He sez it’s behaved perfectly for years with the same Burton reed and is in tune, sounds fine and never lets him down. I’ve played it and liked it better than most. Can’t speak for any other Spillane pipes though.

A Spillane chanter recently sold on eBay for approx. US$350.
Check C.Roberts site, there’s one Spillane (D) chanter still for sale.
His site hasn’t been updated in years.
I have a DS chanter if anyone is interested in buying it. I never got around to having it rereeded though, so I cannot vouch for its tonal quality unfortunitly. PM me if someone has interest and I will tell you what I can about it.
