I got up at 2:30 am PDT to watch this one. Fortunately it was clearly visible from my bedroom window; all I had to do was crawl out of bed and sit on the floor at the foot of the bed and stare. Then I got back into bed and set the alarm to wake me up about every 10-20 minutes to track the progress of the eclipse and still get some catnaps in. When I got up for good to go to work at 5:15, there was still about 5% of the moon in shadow. Nice one. Moonrise the last 3 days here in the Pacific Northwest was pretty cool too.

There is no dark side of the moon, really. Matter of fact, it is all dark.

If it was dark, you wouldn’t be able to tell that Floyd was pink.
