(CP) A Flute Maker's Year

Some of the highlights from this year’s flute and bagpipe making.

Happy New Year!
Casey

Lovely

Loving that mother of pearl inlay! I’ve done a LOT of inlay and that is seriously slick.

What’s the folk oboe there?

Binioù kozh chanters, I think.

I’m guessing he means the shawm-like instrument on the right just above the ssp drones.

Best wishes for the new year.

Steve

Oh, missed that because the pic’s so wide!

Bombard? Or maybe not because the bell looks on the slim side…

Its a Pyrenees Hautbois, key of D based on the one used in this recording by Lo Jai: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2ArTP0fhGA

Lovely stuff…did you make the zampogna ?

I just measured it. Someday I’ll make one for myself.

Beautiful work Casey! Not a day goes by that my folk flute doesn’t get a little love.
