Good News!
One of the winners (will remain anonymous) of the Brass D/E-flat raffle has decided to donate their winning prize back to be re-raffled. The proceeds from this single prize will be given to a needy cause of the previous winners choice.
If you would like to participate, please use the link below to use the Copeland Woodwind’s e-commerce site to get tickets.

I would sincerely love to buy a ticket or three, but I don’t like the idea of paying 6 dollars shipping for a 5 dollar ticket. Can this be changed?
I clicked on the Buy a Chance link, and the page that popped up said:
"ShopSite detected that the information passed from your browser is incomplete and cannot be processed. The information passed is: 3 "
Did anyone else get this odd error message? Or can someone help me? Thankee.
Strange enough, I got the same type of error message, but it worked after clicking Back and trying again. Sorry about that! There must be something wrong with the link.

I right-clicked and selected to open in a new window, then had no problem.
My other question is when is this raffle taking place? It would be a cool gift to give to someone for Xmas!

Do we know which needy cause will be receiving the proceeds? I will probably participate, but would like to know who is benefiting from the raffle. Thanks.

Fair enough question. Since I don’t know the beneficiary personally, here is a quote from the person who originally won and donated the whistle back:

Hello gogo -
Thanks for asking about the recipient of these funds; I can understand why people would like to know. The full proceeds from this raffle are going to a good friend of mine who is in need this holiday season. Due to the job market and several other unfortunate factors, my friend is struggling, and when I discovered I won the first Copeland raffle I considered it a way that I could help my friend and also give someone else the chance at the $5 Copeland. (It’s funny to say, I know, but its not really my ideal whistle, and it can do more good elsewhere.)
I hesitate to identify my friend to the message board because this person has been known to play music and there is the possibility that some people on the board would be acquainted with my friend. Be assured that this is a very good cause, and that I have received the full support of Dale for this raffle.
End Quote…
Thanks, Jim

Also, again, when is the raffle taking place? Having already been through the instance where I purchased a raffle ticket for something, and then purchased the item thinking the raffle was over, then WON the raffle, I really would like to know when I can go back to watching Ebay for a Copeland.
Well, if it’s good enough for Dale, it’s good enough for me. It’s got a few of my chances in there now… I’m not doing it for the copeland. I’m not doing it for the Copeland… I’m…
=P

The idea of getting a Copeland for $5 bucks. . .oh I like that. It would be cool if there was a counter on the page to buy the tickets. I wonder how many of us have bought lottery tickets with this chance of success??? Think of it…there are maybe 50 of us currently active on the board seeing these messages…maybe (but I would doubt it) 50 more just browsing the Copeland board and seeing the offer. I’ve done far more foolish things than sink 5-10 bucks in a lottery or raffle with a chance at something that I would really like to have.
After buying a ticket, bumping this back to the top may not increase my chances of being blessed with a new whistle, but considering the cause, it may increase my chances of being blessed.
