The raffle is closed to further entries. The drawing will take place on Monday, Feb 2, and will be performed by a member of the Alcott Board. Thank everyone for participating. I will announce the winner of the two Alba whistles following the drawing.

The Louisa May Alcott Center for the Performing Arts in Kansas City, Kansas, has been crippled by the failure of the boiler that heats the school building. This center provides immeasurable help to artists who wish to set out on their own to perform their art, be it music, stage, or media, and while the boiler is not working, the school cannot function.
I have been led to understand by Mr. Chuck Green, one of the directors of the school, that repair/replacement of the old boiler will cost in excess of $5000.
A while back, I bought an Alba low D non-tunable from one of you fine folks, and would now like to raffle it off, all proceeds to go to the school. I will only tell them that the funds come from Chiff and Fipple, and that so many of you were the wonderful folks who contributed to the fund for Mr. Chris Johnson of Comedia Sans Arte.
The Alba is in excellent condition, fully in tune, louder than any other low D I’ve heard to date, and fairly low on air requirements. A raffle ticket will cost $10.00 USD. I would be willing to bet that if asked, Stacey can make it tuneable for a small sum, if desired. I believe the retail value of the Alba is something like $125.00 USD. I will sweeten the pot by shipping the whistle to Stacey, myself, for conversion, if desired (and if she will do it), and I will pay for that conversion.
You may purchase raffle tickets by doing a “send money” of $10 per ticket on PayPal to sales@serpentmusic.com, or by sending a check or money order to Serpent Music, labelled “Alba Raffle”.
ADDED - You may now click the WWW link below to go to my mainpage and get tickets from there.
The Alcott Center is a worthy cause, and the Alba is a wonderful whistle. You can help one, and possibly get the other for a very small sum. I will pay shipping anywhere in the world out of my own pocket.
Thank you for your kindness,
Bill Whedon
