Two key chanter, opening bid $1 with reserve, buy it now $1,300US

Seems cheap - the chanter is probably worth $1300 on its own. Wish I had the money to bid. CURSE YOU, VIDEO POKER!!!

… lads, it looks to me like we need to stage a ‘piping intervention’ here, get PJ away from the poker and into the Keno… I mean, Reno, I mean..uh…er…now just what the hell DO I mean?

I would be interested in any reports on this one. From the standpoint of knowing how the old stuff is fairing.

Cheers,
BC

not that chanter, but of similar vintage

especially since these past two weeks have been a “good reed day”…I am still in latrian adoration of my 2001 chanter which sounds quite possibly even better than the day 'twas made (with its original reed - either that or the one you made blind in '99, i’ve lost count)

a few minor scuff marks in the glossy finish of the wood from less-than-optimal-cases, but no mechanical problems whatsoever with solders or keys or springs or anything else. no rushes (save the little styrene “v” you put in there for quieting) or tweaks for tuning. Quiet, about the same volume as my oddly quiet drones, which is good…soft and pleasing, i don’t needs me lots of volume and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Remarkably stable and reliable thru all kinds of weather (tho that’s more your reed than the chanter itself i’d imagine).

over the years have had to add hemp to the top button of the windcap, and some to the “cork” at the base of the windcap. My one suggestion would be to go with waxed hemp instead of the synthetic cork stuff, but hey…you da bossman and whatever works!
