I caught the Chieftains in concert in Boone, NC last night. I had not previously thought of myself as a big Chieftains fan, but I was very entertained and impressed with the show. Matt Molloy was flawless, of course. Paddy was just hilarious. The Canadian fiddler/step dancer, Jon Pilatzke, was absolutely amazing - almost no hair left on his bow after his solo spot. It was definitely worth the cost of the ticket and the trip. I’m won over. 
Was there a party and jam afterwards?
If the crowd was smaller than usual, it was because of a competing event in the area, but our price was only $7. Naomi’s Fancy had a gig last night at the Sawbriar Acoustic Stage on Main Street, Pilot Mountain, NC. We wondered why we didn’t see you there. We had a SRO crowd and got a standing ovation as well. It was one of the best crowds I have ever played for.

to see you guys. Really, though - PM me your concert schedule and I’ll come out and catch your show sometime. We live fairly close to each other - shouldn’t be difficult…
