brady low whistle on ebay

i’ve recently come across this low whistle on ebay.. here’s a link to their website //…

just wondering, how does this whistle compare to others in terms of air requirements, finger stretch and tone?

its the cheapest low whistle i could find. i’m looking for something relatively inexpensive due to the unfavourable exchange rate cos its costs about three times in my currency, any help appreciated!

Take a look at this thread, especially the comments by khl: http://chiffboard.mati.ca/viewtopic.php?t=52322

I just got one last week and already sent it back. It may be because I used to have a Viper (and I was spoiled), but it didn’t fit me at all. Very chiffy and airy in the upper octave and a lot of air required as well. It seemed like the finger stretch and ability to cover the holes properly was worse than I had on the Viper as well, but it’s been a while.

On the other hand, it played well in tune (nice, since it’s non-tunable) and was very cheap. It is probably a great intro to the low world for those two reasons. I should also mention that the company, and Gretchen in particular, are very nice to deal with. Shipping was incredibly fast and she was nice enough to give me back half my purchase price. She even said to keep the whistle, but I couldn’t do that in good conscience, so I sent it back to her. They ship their whistles in indestructible PVC tubes, by the way.

This just looks painful.

Yeah, I noticed that, too.

Yeah, looks like something you’d end up in the ER for.
