Blenheim Ginger Ale

I’ve always been a fan of Cream Soda and Ginger Ale. Today I first heard of a Ginger Ale from South Carolina called Blenheim.

Is there anyone here from the area who would be willing to send me a bottle of the 1903 and a bottle of the Nah?

I’ll pay shipping and the cost of the (pop/soda) and extra for the trouble.

Anyone here ever tried it? LIke it?

Blenheim is good. My grandmother and I are the only people in our family that drink ginger ale or cream soda, so we don’t get it very often.

I’m going back to Columbia for Spring Break in early March, so I’d be glad to hook you up if you haven’t found someone else by then. They sell it in most every local supermarket. Just tell me what you need.

I’ve seen this stuff all over the place. Giant grocery in MD had it, but
that might be as far north as it gets… I could send you a case, if you
want. My buddy loves the stuff (it’s a bit too spicy for my tastes). It
come in a diet variety and two non-diets:

red cap (hot)

and gold cap (mild … sorta)

I found some more info (and the pics) here:

EDIT: apparantly, you can order them from BeveragesDirect.com:
http://www.beveragesdirect.com/products/blenheim/

Further edit: Beverages Direct also appears to be a source of
Cheerwine in bottles, which I haven’t seen in years. Cool.

Also, if it’s more convenient for you, this place sells it.

In case you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend Reed’s Ginger Brew. They have several varieties, but my favorite is the “Premium Ginger Brew” ginger ale. (It’s sweetened with honey and pineapple juice rather than fructose.) I found the “Extra Ginger Brew” ginger beer a tad too strong on the ginger for my tastes (25 grams of ginger root per bottle, rather than their usual 17 grams).

Oh thanks Congrats and fearfaoin. The reason I wanted a single bottle is in case I didn’t like it I wouldn’t be stuck with 11 more. It looks like popsoda.com sells singles.

THey have quite a few varieties.

Oops, I missed that aspect of your post.

If like hot stuff, try both the hot and mild. It’s an interesting contrast.

Ginger ice cream? Interesting.

Yeah, but I can’t vouch for that, as I haven’t tried it. (I’m lactose intolerant; plus, the casein gives me headaches.)

we were just talking about this at lunch!!!

Flydood - have you ever had Ale-8?

You can get it anywhere from Lexington and east in Kentucky. You can also get it at Jungle Jim’s here in the Cincinnati area, but the purists insist it’s like the “old” Coors - that you can’t buy it that far from the bottler and have it taste “right”…

Nope. I should have checked for it when Sue and I we were at Jungle Jims.

I see the plant used to be in an old livery stable. Must have had a “special” flavor in those days.

Have you ever had Cardomom ice cream? I was kind of leery when I first heard of it but it’s pretty good…
