A question of Pepsi-Cola bottles.

Why do the new-design 2 litro Pepsi-Cola bottles look smaller than the conventional ones?

Are they actually smaller?

I wouldn’t think so… then again… maybe it’s the “new and improved” Metric System.

Either way, it’s not much matter to me. I don’t care for Pepsi-Cola. About the only brown pop I like is caffeine-free Dr. Pepper, and maybe Royal Crown Cola.

RC Cola and a Moon Pie! My favorite!

There’s a hidden holler in the hills of Tennessee,
Where you’ll find the little orchard of the Moon Pie tree,
Ripe when the moon is full, the fruit is yummy sweet,
Chocolate covered cookies with a marshmallow treat,
And better than the syrup from a maple tree tap,
Is the RC Cola from the Moon Pie tree sap.

 Gave me chills! Wooo!

Diet Rite is the only diet soda that I can tolerate.

No finer, more convenient, way to get a sugar buzz.

I remember when “RC Cola and a Moon Pie” was the most common request made at the corner grocery. Mmm, mmm, good! Makes me homesick for the hills of East Tennessee. (“Cheerwine” cherry soda was another favorite.)

There’s a business called Real Soda that makes Bubble-Up, Nehi, RC Cola, Cheerwine, and other pops with the original recipies and sells them in glass bottles. They are more expensive than your ordinary Pepsi, Coke, or 7-UP. Real Soda uses real sugar, not corn syrup.

Only reason I know this is that we sell it at Northwest Seed and Pet in Spokane. (Real sanitary - ring up a dog, cat, pig, or chicken at the register then without time to wipe down the counter or wash hands, ring up pop and honey sticks! I’ve been trying to keep hand sanitizer at my register and use it between customers, espicially now that flu season will be starting, but I don’t always have time.)

I’m sorry, but you’re not allowed to use “Cheerwine” and “pop” in the
same sentence. Too much culture clash. (Actually, most people who
use the word “pop” have never heard of Cheerwine… interesting.)

I would never have known about it if I didn’t work in a place that sells it.

And I was torn between referring to the beverages as “pop”, “soda”, “soda pop”, “soft drinks”, or the all-encompassing “Pepsi”.

I’ve just Googled up “Moonpie” and they seem to bear an uncanny likeness to a thing we get over here called “Wagon Wheels”…Any of you American folk ever seen them?

Slan,
D.

Nope. Do they compare favorably with ambrosia? The craving for Moonpies has been known to cause war among the gods.
