Nice photo!
Alloy 260? Is that the same stuff we usually call brass?
Thanks for sharing that, Hiro Ringo.

Thanks and Yes.Alloy 260 also called cartridge brass/yellow brass.
yellow brass(7:3=copper:zinc)
gold brass(85:15)
red brass/rose brass/commercial brass(9:1)
Good photo! Sindts are beautiful instruments.I was so impressed by my recently purchased D and Eb that I have an ‘A’ plus Bb tube on order.
Wow. Thanks Hiro!
Best wishes,
Jerry
Hi, Kevin and Jerry.Always a pleasure when I seem to get somebody happy
Kevin,I also have additionally Bb plus A tube on order.
Jerry. I thought I read your comments refering to “temerament” issues. That was interesting. Now I am thinking of reyburn’s just intoned tube which fits Sindt’s A head piece(I asked Ronaldo if that sort of order was possible and take leasty 6 months to see if it’s acceptable).
Nice photos! so sharp!
That’s my baby! John Sindt and I have the same initials, and so my Sindt is also monogrammed for me too.
I DID do what might be a very bad thing (but hey I like it). Based upon advice in C&F, I changed out the barrel with the heavier brass from a feadog, and I think the C# sounds better. I’ll put the old barrel back on and see if I still feel that way someday, but the mouthpiece is really nice and comfortable and does not seem to clog much.
You have to like the sound of the Sindt though, louder than the Clark but not as loud as the Susato, but with a cloudy kind of tone that’s hard to define (nasal? humm ..maybe not..) These days, I just lay out all the whistles and use different ones for different tunes. My Sindt is the most responsive whistle that I have, with the most predictable sound. How do other folks feel about the Sindt?
