Antique 8-key wooden flute for sale

I’m new to the list, and the reason for my first posting is that I have an 8-key German wood flute that I want to sell. I bought it on eBay a year ago, and have been learning to play on it, but I recently bought a Casey Burns keyless in blackwood, and have fallen in love with it! I don’t play the German flute at all anymore. As I began with the whistle, and still play it, I’m more comfortable with the keyless. The German flute is either cocuswood or ebony, in good shape, with one repaired crack on the back side of the headjoint, well away from the embouchure hole. The keys probably need repadding, but the joints are newly lapped with cork, and it’s in really good shape overall. I’ve taken good care of it, kept the bore oiled, etc. It comes with a beautiful highly-figured wood case, lined and fitted to the flute, ornamented top and bottom with some beautiful carving. I’m asking $250 for it. You can contact me at macrane@prodigy.net.

Thanks–
Michael

Maybe you could bring it to the get together we are having in San Francisco the afternoon of January 10th. If you ( or anyone else for that matter ) is interested in meeting together, give me a shout. The initial reason for the gathering was to play Low Whistles, but it has expanded to be a regular session type event.

Your flute and case sounds interesting, by the way. My wife would be interested in trying a keyed flute as she has only played keyless thus far.

I’ve sold the flute I had for sale. I got several inquiries about it, and was happily surprised by the attention. Thanks, flute list!
Steven–I’ll email you about the Low Whistle Fest. I also play low whistle, and it sounds like a great event.
