Alpine Conjunction

There’s about 3 possibly 4 tiny pinprincks of light just above the dude’s head, and about 3 more bright ones above but off-center to the left. Which one is Neptune!? :boggle:

Look closer at the enlarged image. You will see that there are two people in the bottom centre of the photo. The blue squiggly line is actually the right arm of the person on the left. The photographer they refer to is to the right of him, and right at the top of the guy on the right’s head is Neptune.

I gotta tell ya, I really only see one person in the photo. My mouse comes with a magnifier, and when used on even the enlarged ‘high resolution’ image, I see one guy, standing almost 90 degrees facing to the right, his right arm (or the blue squiggly line as you referred to it) being closer to us. The other person if there were one, would have to be the one behind the camera that took this photo. Now I’m wondering what is either in his hand, or is in the sky; that blue square looking object right above what appears to be his right hand. Photo of many questions…

I’m not sure what Deej is smoking, but
I only see one dude and his camera…
I think when they say “just above the
photographer’s head” they mean the
one with the greatest proximity to said
head. To wit, this guy:

I can only guess that either you are not using a CRT monitor, so don’t have correct colour balance to view the image properly, or are desperately in need of corrective lenses. Even in the smaller image as captured by fearfaoin, you can see the faint outline of the second person to the right of the blue sleeve. Neptune is atop the head of that second person.

Using fearfaoin’s capture, here’s another way of finding Neptune in that image. Follow the blue line of the sleeve upwards to the left, where you find the faint jawline of the blue sleeve’s wearer. Now go straight across to the right about an inch and you will see a single pinpoint of light. That is Neptune, and if you look down below Neptune you will find the even fainter outline of the left side of the second person.

Methinks your CRT may be dieing, good sir.
I have cropped, enlarged and changed the
contrast/brightness. Alls I see is a tripod
to the right of the blue sleeve.

Oops! You’re right. At size at mistook the camera for a person’s head. So Neptune is the one peaking out of the top right of the person’s touque.

djm

I wouldn’t take any more of that for a while… :open_mouth:

Perhaps I’m just in need of corrective lenses…

Alpine Junction, what’s your function!?

Ooooooh, pretty! Regardless of whether that tripod is, in fact, human or machine. What a great picture!

I say it’s a robotic machine named ‘Tripod’…
