Sooo… Nice to know I’m not the only one who gets confused by links within pictures. Course, now that it’s registered that there is such a thing, it’s kinda neat.

Cool! time to get the scope out. I thought opposition was 11/2 though. either way, fun stuff to look at.
Last year when it was the closest it had been in like 63,000 years. I had a good view of it. Looked like an orange from about 25 ft with a white raisin stuck to it. My scope (a 4.5" newt) just isn’t big enough to get decent surface detail. I only get faint banding of Jupiter and have never resolved the Cassini division in Saturn’s rings. But the Martian Polar Cap was discernable.
