Yes, I do have that burning desire to have keys , but I realize that I’ve got a lot more to learn and understand before making an informed and carefully considered decision (particularly about an antique). For the time being, my jets are cooled, especially since the semester is starting up. Summer is a dangerous time for me. Had a couple of these in my shop, more a Eb then a D, look how far sown the emb. hole is on the head joint. He says it plays at 442, that is probably the bottom D, I am sure the A is up about 460 htz. This one is similar to the one I reamed out with my R&R reamers, that flute is in South Africa now. I wonder how it is doing down there? The first octave and the second octave E were way off, bottom E was 400 cents sharp, and the second octave was 40 cent flat!
