A pic of our new guy, I just had to share.

Here’s a new picture of our new guy Jesse, after two weeks with us. We’ve adopted him, he’s ours now. He is very sweet and loving and we are lucky to have him.

Ah, he’s cute! He looks like he’s playing the shy boy in that photo.

Redwolf

Is that a young racoon?

D

Possibly even a polecat. I don’t think it’s a minx, though. I seen a minx here while back, though, out by the creek.

Looks like a ferret to me.

I did wonder if it was a barred polecat but wasn’t sure if they were common stateside.

Ferreting is making a comeback in southern England as a non-chemical option for rabbit control.

Jesse’s a ferret, which are domesticated polecats, so there ya go.

There was another thread on him right after they found him, for info and older photos see

I didn’t think it was a zorilla which is an African polecat. I tend to equate polecats with skunks more then with ferrets.

Nice looking little thing but I’ll bet it’s fogo as a fummard (well it would have to be wouldn’t it?).

Nah, even though ferrets are mustelids, ours are descented.

By the way, nice turn of phrase there…that’s not one of those expressions you hear just everyday.

I knew someone who had a Ferrett that would bite everyone.

Awwww! So cute!

Nice shiny coat, too!

Doo mayat, tha duz rouwund 'ere.

Trying to keep up with all the coloquialisms might just send ya off your noggin sky-western crooked. :astonished:
