I just thought I’d let everyone know that I’ve created my own little economic stimulus package on ebay, two flutes I’ve had for a while that I’m not playing. They’re both in excellent, original, crack free condition and play well. The boxwood Murray is about 15 or 20 years old and has some spotting, resembling a famous flute known as the banana on this board. javascript:emoticon(‘’) It’s an easy flute to play, I’d recommend it to players at any level. The Grinter is very clean, and has beautiful keywork, as nice as any I’ve seen. The embouchure on that flute takes a bit more muscle than the Murray, it might disappoint a player who doesn’t quite have their “stiff upper lip” down yet. But when you get it, it’s really a great, reedy, interesting tone with lots of different color available. I added a youtube video to each listing so you can get an idea of how the flute sounds. You can find the listings under my seller’s page:
The Murray Boxwood is a amazing player, Loren will attest to this…
I haven’t played the Grinter, but any flute that Kevin Crawford plays, has to be good… You will sound just like Kevin when you buy that one!
Great looking flutes. Shame you have to sell them. I’d grab the Grinter if I had the money. Just wanted to let you know that the YouTube links aren’t links right now. It was only text when I went to the sites. Best of luck.
Thanks Kevin! Yeah, I noticed the sync problem after they were uploaded to youtube, before then there wasn’t a problem. Not sure what happened, they’re Quicktime Pro files. I wonder if something happened during the upload, I’m on a satellite internet service here in the mountains. Oh well. Hopefully people will figure out that you need to copy the http address into a new window to get to the youtube pages. I’m not sure why the address isn’t a link in my ebay listing. Oh well again.
Hey, I saw your 8 key Wylde from Rudall & Rose at Jon’s a few days ago, it looks like it’ll be a really nice flute. Congrats!
No bids on ebay for the boxwood 4 key Murray, but here’s a link to the auction for the description. PM me if interested and would like to make an offer. Thanks! -Dave
