Thanks Joe. Just to clarify folks. One of the guest pipers is Marion McCarthy. She is Tommy’s sister in law and is a very very fine piper. She is the daughter of Tommy McCarthy and she plays his Rowsome set. Greatly looking forward to hearing her play. I heard her first on the “McCarthy Family Album” which features Tommy Keane’s wife Jacqueline on concertina.

We have just received word that pipemaker Martin Preshaw will be joining us for the tionól this year along with Tommy Keane, Marion McCarthy, David Quinn, Michael Hubbert, Michael O’Donovan & Kevin Crehan.

Problem is there is a grand total of about 3 concertina players in and around our club and we are so over reaching our budget with the crew we have already that it just wouldn’t be practical. Marion and Tommy will be great though - it’s going to be a brilliant tionol! Have you heard “The Family Album”?

One of these years when finances allow, I’d love to make it out there (hopefully, the baby will have kicked the habit by then ). But alas, it will not be this year.
