No, that’s not right. They are still being made. But his list may be closed (i.e., he is not taking orders) at the moment while he catches up the backlog of orders in his queue.
My information comes from a friend who tried to order a whistle, according to her John replied that he closed his list to catch up with the queue and then retire from making. When I emailed him about ordering two whistles a few weeks before my friend did, he still told me what you just wrote. So he might have changed his mind, or my friend might be wrong. I don’t know…
Thanks, Gabriel. If he has in fact decided to retire, then that is news. And worth a confirmation, since there are probably potential customers who are just waiting for his list to reopen, rather than looking elsewhere.
