Used Sindts are tough to come by since owners tend to cherish…and hang onto them. But anything’s possible. I did the same thing you’re doing and posted a request here for a Sindt D a few years ago and fortunately for me, it just happened someone had one they’d been thinking about selling and I got it. The timing was right. So keep after it. It’d also be a good idea to contact John and find out what his wait time is. One of the guys in our session group ordered one last year and it took about eight months. I’d be curious to know what John’s charging now. When I got mine, they were something like $95 new, which is ridiculously low for such a high quality instrument. At that time, I think Burkes were around $125…now they’re $190.

BTW, here’s a nice video of John in his shop talking about how he got started making whistles. Be patient. It took a while for this site to load for me.

I got one from John Sindt in March, it was 105 plus about 10 bucks shipping. He said there was a six month wait but got it to me in about 4.

Wow :boggle: That’s still an amazing price for such a high quality and highly sought-after whistle considering the large price hikes of competitors in the past few years. Hats off to John.
