Who's makin' the cheapest low whistles these days?

Back when I was posting here more regularly, Susatos were probably the cheapest thing on then market, but it looks like they are considerably more expensive these days.

Anyway, I was playing low D for a thing, and some lady asked me about where to get one for here niece for Christmas (apparently she is 14, but she has very long fingers). I told here how much I thought she could get one for, and checked it out on the website, but those sustatos cost more than I remember, what with everything being expensive these days.

This has to be the deal to beat!

It’s been a couple of years since I bought a couple of low D’s for a niece … a Susato and the Jubilee practice low D. Both are nice whistles. In a side by side test, the Jubilee was easier to play and (to my ear) had a better sound. My niece prefers the Jubilee, too.

As always …ymmv.

ggwhistles (.com) makes some pretty affordable whistles including a low D. There have been some reviews here on chiff and fipple, as the GG whistles tour has progressed. But I think there have been relatively few comments about the low D.

But if this is for Christmas then it’s probably too late to order – ggwhistles is in Italy.

Thanks all, I’ll recomend the Jubilee to the woman in question.

You are, with the help of Guido’s instructions. I can’t vouch for the quality, but you’ll feel a sense of achievement.
