Whistles for Sale

Hey folks,

I’m in the process of simplifying and am clearing out some whistles I don’t play anymore. All are priced well below their current prices and all whistles play with characteristics typical for their kind. (In other words, no lemons!)
(NT = Non tunable, T = tunable)

Chieftain high D - aluminum alloy, T, loud, $65.

Bamboo high D - (Susato head on bamboo body) by bamboo sax maker Jim Brock. Plays like a Susato. NT, $12.
(I couldn’t find Jim’s website but here is an article by him on HMT’s site)

http://www.hmtrad.com/articles/bamboosx.html

Bamboo low G - (Susato head on bamboo body) by bamboo sax maker Jim Brock, nice graghic on bamboo tube. Both play like Susatos. NT, $20.

Weltmeister Wood Whistle - by Adler, painted gold, T, $20.

Shaw Whistles (all of these have been tweeked to a lower air requirement and a slightly lower volume, wood plug sealed where it touches the lip, shaped mouthpiece), rolled tin with a wood plug: classic conical tinwhistle design.
low G - NT, $30.
low D - NT, $40.

Chieftain low D - aluminum alloy, T, $100.

Howard low C - plastic fipple on metal tube, all black, NT, $75.

All whistles are in good to new condition with only normal signs of wear (small scratches, tarnish, etc.). Shipping is free.

Please e-mail all inquiries to me directly and don’t post here. I’ll post as whistles are spoken for. Some of these whistles have been reviewed on the C&F website, but if you have a question about a specific whistle please e-mail me. Thanks

Vinny

HEY T.L.!!!

Would you please e-mail me with another e-mail address or leave a message here for me. I tried to answer your e-mail but it bounced back.

Thanks,

Vinny

Hey Folks,

Karma is not spelled with an ‘h’ after the k. The Sanskrit word ‘Dharma’ comes from the verbal root ‘dhr’ (actually, with a dot under the r in English transliteration, which stands for the retroflex r, as I recall, but I can’t duplicate that in this e-mail) and therefore has the h in the nouns made from it. Karma, on the other hand comes from the Sanskrit verbal root ‘kr’ (also with that retroflex r, which appears in English with a dot under it). Since there is no ‘h’ in the verbal root, there is no ‘h’ in karma, which is a noun derived from that verbal root.

PS: Will gladly trade Sanskrit lessons for lessons in musical theory–no kidding.

Hey Tom,

Thanks for the correction and the offer. However, I fear you would get the short end of the strick in that trade . . .

I did manage to spell “Grace” correctly though!

Hey T.L.,

I tried to e-mail you at the other address last night and it came back. Leave a private message for me here, if you will. I don’t know what handle you use here so I couldn’t leave one for you.

Thanks,

Vinny

Hey T.L.,

Check your messages. We may have to communicate through C&F board messages as it seems I can’t get an e-mail through to you.

Hey Folks,

I’ve reduced the prices on the remaining whistles to find them new homes.

Thanks,

Vinny
