Whistle shops in Montreal

Hi!

Do any of you know if there are any shops in Montreal that carry tin whistles?

I’ll be in Canada all summer, and in Montreal a few days, I’m thinking it would be nice for once to buy some whistles right from the shop instead of ordering them on the net.

By the way, if any of you know if there are any shops in Montreal that carry Dixon flutes (especially the Dixon 3-piece one) I’d be very grateful!

Thanks in advance!

Emilie

Heya,

Well, no luck for you, Montreal isnt a very good place to buy whistles. You can get some Generation and similar whistles, but nothing else. I ordered most of my whistles on the net myself (and bought a few in Ireland).

How about meeting for a few tunes? I live straight downtown, beside a few irish pubs!

BIG OT REPLY,

where abouts in Norway?
I worked in Bergan for a while
as a contract draughtsman.

Nearest I know is Andy’s Front Hall, about 3-4 hr South of there. Not really very close. Oh yes, Celtic Treasures in Saratoga Springs has a decent collection of whistles too.

I think I’ll buy a few cheap whistles while I’m in Montreal, I love to see my collection growing.. It’s strange that they don’t sell other whistles and flutes in Montreal though, there are quite a few people of Irish descent in the area.. ah well.

Azalin: Would be great to meet and have a ‘whistle jam’! I have to find out when and for how long I’ll be in Montreal though! I’ll let you know!

rbm: I’m in Sandefjord, which is on the east coast, about an hour and a half south of Oslo. I’m moving to Bergen this fall though, to study at the university. Bergen’s a really nice city!

Thanks for your replies!
