Does anyone know where I might buy a head for a feadog? My grandparents gave me one they bought in Dublin years ago and on the third tweak I cracked the head (switching from puddy to wax…I think the heat did it) And also, after putting the head back on after tweaking it had already been loose so I tried to give it some grip by sandpapering the end of the body which didn’t work. And I also wanted heads for some copper experiment whistles i’m making. like bulk fipples haha.

Just search the forum for Whitecaps or Mack Hoover and you’ll find out what a lot of the people around here think. Mack machines the head - it is not an injection molded mass production piece - and it always improves the sound of any whistle.
I have a Whitecap on a Feadog, and it is a totally different instrument. Well worth the money, IMHO.
And Mack is a real nice guy to deal with.

They’re cheaper than most if not all other hand-made whistles. They’re more expensive than machine-made fipples because, well, they’re made by hand.
They’re a bargain for the sound you get.
From my exoperiences the Feadog has a larger body than most Whsitles so the Walton’s head might or might not fit.
Why are divorces so expensive?
