Fear not…the head on my nickel C Feadog which was never up to much has now cracked, so…
Recommendations please for the best new head to give me a new superwhistle. Cheapskate that I am, I don’t like to spend good money on the key of C (call it re*orderphobia if you will 
). And my Oak C is pretty bad too (same head??).

I’m not an expert on this (but I play one on TV), but from what I’ve read on the message board your solution might well be a white cap from Mr. Hoover.
Surprised to hear about your Oak C - mine is wonderful!

I’m going to second Madguy’s suggestion ( 
). I’ve got a Whitecap Low G from Mack Hoover and it ranks as one of my top three whistles (one of the others in my top three is a narrow bore Bb pvc from Mack). You’ll be hard pressed to find a sweeter sound at such a great price.
