I gave up trying to work out where Loren is coming from ages ago.
I think Planet Loren was my final conclusion.
Is that what you meant?
Uh-oh, another locked topic in the making… ![]()
Maybe someone did finally lock him up
Try over in the flute forum. He’s been posting there plenty lately.
Maybe he got bored of the useless conflict.
He posted recently on the Overton thread so he’s still around. He actually won the ‘most Overtons’ competition, his 12 clearly beating my 9. He didn’t say, though, how many were BOs and how many CGs. Since all of mine are Bernard-made, I still might have the worst case of BO around here.
The question is : who misses him?

Turns out the conflict wasn’t useless after all. ![]()
Don’t be mean to Loren just because I was the one who asked. I just wondered, that’s all. I hadn’t seen his name in a while, and even though I think he gets annoying once in a while, well, so do I, and I was actually kind of worried. Thanks for the info that he’s still okay and posting elsewhere.
Cheers,

I miss him.
So do I. He’s so…well…curmudgeonly.

i think he’s a good dude too, we’re all sort of crazy, so what the heck.
He posted just recently, so I’m sure he’s ok. He probably found a job and doesn’t have time to hang out here like he did when he was unemployed, that’s all.

Yes, he posted in the “OT: What makes this Irish music stuff so great anyhow?” thread just yesterday.

And you’re bragging about this?

Who misses him? I do, for one. Loren’s ofttimes prickly manner occasionally hides one of the most knowledgable and helpful people on the board.
And, frankly, I think at least a few of the preceding comments in this thread have been unnecessarily (and uncharacteristically) snippy.
I do have one suggestion, though, for why some folks seem to be in an unusually combative mood of late. It’s election time in the US. For the last month (and the next, as well, dammit!) we Middle North Americans been subjected to a never-ending flood of damned lies, whines and televised bitches - and I’m not talking about people or dogs. I, for one, could happily whistle every politician and their flacks and money-men straight to Perdition - with a capital “P”.

Oh, no, Chuck…PLEASE don’t get everyone on a “The Music Man” theme!!! ![]()

I didn’t even think of Robert Preston. I was capitalizing the noun to suggest a specific place, one rather warmer than Guadalajara. Not, of course, that I exactly believe in such a place - though I wouldn’t object to establishing it for lawyers, politicians and door-to-door proselytizers.
Still ‘round the corner there may wait the demons of your secret fate.
We try to pass them by today, but never, ever give they way
And take our souls, though hard they run - The IRS, just havin’ fun!
