Hi all, I am from Puerto Rico and I am planning a trip to Ireland for only two days, june 17 to jun 19. I want to know what places to go, I really want to know where I could see uilleann pipe music and irish dance. Going to Ireland is my dream, I also play the uilleann pipes, I own a Chris Bayley set. Please tell me the places to go. I really would appreciated. Thanks all
Hi Jose,
If you contact Na Piobairi Uilleann they should be able to help you out: www.pipers.ie - There may be something happening at The Cobblestone Pub in the Smithfield in central Dublin.
Why are you only going for two days?
Pat.
I am only for two days because I am spending a summer in barcelona for study but I will be in europe on june 11 to see some countries before the classes. I have to be in barcelona on june 23, the classes began in jun 26 and finish in july 30. I will be travelin with 2 friends, and I will be in Italy, dublin, holand, paris and then barcelona
of course check the pipers club (they were closed for a remodel when I was there) but then make sure you track down the Cobblestone pub.. the guys there will know where to point you to some other amazing sessions. When I was there I ran across Harry Bradley and he took me to another pub who’s name I completely forget, but there was a session in the front room totally bouncing along and then in the back of the bar there was a session with like five uilleann pipers in it. now that was something to hear. of course by that time I was on the last day of my visit and was too drained to even focus, but good times. start with the Cobblestone at least.

That sounds like Hughes’ Pub which is behind the Four Courts: http://www.dublinpubscene.com/thepubs/mhughes.html
