I’m new to this website and Message board. Excuse me if this subject has already been discussed, but I was hoping someone could tell me what key Andrea Corr’s whistle is and whether anybody has any Tin Whistle sheet music of The Corrs that they don’t mind sharing with me.
Andrea confesses to frequency mislaying her whistles so she doesn’t buy expensive ones !
Mostly she will choose a Walton’s ‘little black whistle’ which is aluminium barrel and plastic mouthpiece, high D tuning. She prefers the all black model but Waltons do the same whistle with the mouthpiece moulded from a cream-coloured plastic - and they do a ‘special edition’ of the black-and-cream with a small facsimilie of a Guinness label on it.
You can pick up a new Waltons on E-bay for two of three quid plus postage on a good day. I’d rate it as nicer to play than a Clarke or Generation, but not quite as smooth-sounding as a Feadog - but that’s just my rather limited experience !
Thankyou so much for your reply Kepla. It is most appreciated. I have a black Feadog D whistle at the moment, but it has a very high pitch, scratchy sound sometimes which annoys me. I might look into buying a Waltons little black whistle instead.
I’m tempted to invoke groundhog day and the CRYst\\\\[[[]]]]//////, but let’s just let this thread rest as a perfect flahback to the spirit of C&F as it was before things got political and nasty.
I’m not sure what you are talking about Roger. The thread was finished right there until you got involved!! What happened to free speach? I was only giving my opinion of my whistle!! Surely you have other things to worry about than making a fuss like that over what I said…
