Whistle(s) Andrea Corr plays?

I saw the Corrs play on T.V. on St.Patrick’s eve. I was really impressed by the lead singer’s whistle playing, especially the tone she got out of her whistle. Both the whistle and fipple were black. From looking at some photos on the 'Net, it looked a lot like a Susato. Anybody know what whistle(s) she plays?P.S.: Here’s a photo:

Oh no…

hanging his head and shaking it

So it was her whistle playing that impressed you, was it? A likely story.

I’ve seen her use a Walton’s Little Black whistle and recently on VH1 she used one with a blue fipple. I think she uses any ole cheap whistle.

Maybe we should have some photos of Andrea Corr. To see what kind of whistle it is she plays. wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more…

I read an interview with Andrea Corr a few months ago in which she stated she liked playing whistle “Because whistles are cheap and I lose everything … I’d be broke if I palyed the violin or piano …” Apparently when she is on tour Andrea carries boxes full of cheapies because she can’t keep one for more than a few days without losing it. She did not mention a specific brand.

One more thing. She sucks her thumb. What’s the deal with that?

The performance I saw Saturday on TV she played a Little Black (you could see the label and the distinctive Walton mouthpiece). She also had another cheap whistle (it look like it could have been a C) which I did not see her play.

Probably because she doesn’t eat enough…

hmmm…has she thought that maybe fans are filching them as souvenirs? They’re probably justifying their actions by saying, well, them whistles is cheap, she’s got loads of them…

The Corrs? Never heard of em. What songs do they sing???

I can feel an Andrea moment coming on!

I read somewhere that she throws her lbw out into the audience at the end of the gig, same as guitarists do with their picks. Nice touch and nice souvenirs for some lucky punters. You’d have to be very attentive if you were sitting in the front row of an Elton John concert I guess, just in case a grand piano came flying towards you!

No pics of the phenomenally gorgeous but admittedly rather skinny Ms Corr? Who’ll be first? Get 'em while they’re hot… they’re lovely!

Well, glad to hear of someone who likes the Walton Little Black D! Who’s, er, professional and oughta be able to afford whatever she wants to, since its in her line of work! It seems to me that recently there has been more on the board about the more expensive of the inexpensive brands. I think somebody on the board said once the only thing they do with their Walton LBW is keep it in the glove compartment; the heat can’t make it any worse! Now, if I can just make it PLAY the same way she does…
Looking like her wouldn’t hurt, either sigh.

Darn good thing she doesn’t play an Overton low

Mastersound, ask and ye shall receive:

Hey Chris,

I can see that Andrea has you under her spell. You had to edit a two word reply!

What a legend you are garycrosby! I think I’m going to have to create a thumbnail site for my cache of Andrea pics!

I finally got my LBW and Mellow D today. The LBW plays just as badly as the Feadog MkII that I have… or maybe it’s just me? Don’t you love how cheap these things are? I’ve scored one of my stepson’s old drumstick bags to keep them all in, so I think I’ve officially fallen into the WHOA trap!

Yes, I am also very, eh, impressed with Andrea… Eh, I mean her whistle playing of course.

Mmmmm, oral fixation…

Jens, oral? Now lets not get into that…or shall we..?
